Jiggs is about 2 years old and weighs 60 lbs. He is a little shy and timid at first but soon warms up when he feels comfortable around you. Once he opens up he is chatty at times and gets quite exited if you start making jungle type noises. He is very sweet and seems to do well with other dogs. He is quite the gem who once has a little more training under his belt will make an exceptional companion for some lucky person. Jiggs d oes okay alone and will whine and cry sometimes, but he tended to do well when left alone, as long as he was left gradually and he had been relatively well exercised. He loves to play! He'd often bounce off the walls and dive into a play bow or try to wrestle. Jiggs could definitely use a bit of training there, as he can be a bit intense. He pulls fairly hard at the beginning of a walk, but after 5-10 minutes he does pretty well on a leash and also pulls hard if he sees a small animal. He doesn't pull that hard for other dogs though. Jiggs is very chatty. Not so much "woo woo woo", but more whining and groaning/grumbling noises. It's really endearing, especially when you're scratching/petting him and he lets out a big satisfied groan.
Jiggs is very friendly with other dogs. He met some other huskies on a hike and he seemed to get along with them really well, and even tried to start playing. An aggressive dog also confronted us and he handled the situation very well. Overall I'd say he would be great in a home with other dogs, especially since they could help teach him "dog manners".
Great walking/running/hiking buddy. I took him out for a 5ish mile walk on the lake trails near my house, and he handled it like a champ. He also loves to run, so I think he'd make a great exercise/adventure partner.
If you are interested in any of the dogs, the first step is to fill out an adoption questionnaire found on our website under Forms/Applications. Please note we do not adopt to folks with small animals or to families with kids under 8 years old.
